ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH

Sanger, California

This church seats up to 1,100 worshippers and reflects the present time through inspiration and symbolism. Costs-savings was achieved by using masonry units accented by cement-plaster instead of a poured-concrete wall system, initially sought by the client; this further provides for low-maintenance and creates a sense of purity. The masonry system allows glazing to open the building’s envelope while minimizing movement/construction joints. The superstructure frees the floor plan of columns, whereby creating unobstructed views within.
